Muning started her yoga journey as a lifetime student at age 15. She studies with and is inspired by great teachers like Sri Manju Jois, Kino McGregor, Dharma Mittra, Swami Asokananda, Tim Miller, Nicki Doane, Alan Finger, Beryl Bender Birch, Avery Jones, and Jule Febre. Muning studies, practices and teaches various styles of yoga, including Iyengar, Jivamukti, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Dharma Mittra, Restorative, Prenatal, and Yin.
Expect traditional components of yoga in her classes: pranayama (breathing techniques), meditation, philosophy, chanting, and mudra. Her strong vinyasa classes focus on functional and structural integration of body movements, and deep connection between breath and movements with philosophical yoga teachings woven through. Her Yin yoga classes cultivate mindfulness and stillness in the meditative mind, as a result gaining sustainable flexibility in the body. Her beginner Hatha classes emphasize safe alignments and modifications which making yoga accessible to all types of bodies and all levels of practice.
Muning’s goal as a teacher is to inspire her students to find their balanced life, happiness, connection and inner peace both on their mats and in their lives through the practice of yoga. Currently, Muning offers Hot, Hot Vinyasa, Warm, Prenatal and Candlelight classes at Zen. Private sessions are also available upon request. Muning is a registered YACEP (Yoga Alliance Continued Education Provider) and is also a part of Zen Hot Yoga's Teacher Training program.
